I just finished the latest assignment for the online orchestration class I've been taking. The assignment was to write something for solo trombone based on the poem If by Rudyard Kipling. This time I decided to go with a jazz sound.
Keep in mind that these are "sampled" instruments. It's never quite the same as the real thing! This becomes especially apparent when working with a solo instrument like the trombone.

Nice stuff. Have you checked out the Garritan series? "Personal Orchestra" has some great stuff, and the "Big Band" set has some very workable jazz tones across the whole band, most of which are articulation variable with the mod-wheel.
On a side note, I don't know how much audio you post here, but the Flash Audio Player by 1pixelout is a very cool, very clean looking little embedded mp3 player.
Cheers!

Thanks, Michael. That trombone is from Garritan Personal Orchestra. I don't have the Big Band set, though. It would be nice to own, but not worth it as I don't plan on doing a lot of stuff along those lines.
Thanks for the suggestion on the mp3 player. I'll have to check it out.
