I found out yesterday that I am 9 credits short in terms of being certified to teach in New Jersey. The requirements state that I must have completed "30 credits in a coherent sequence in the subject field. A coherent sequence requires that at least 12 credits are completed at the advanced level of study (junior, senior or graduate level)."
I have 40 credits in music, but apparently only 3 of them are being considered "advanced level." Needless to say, I am upset about this!
Bill, give me their address - I'll take care of it.

Makes you think - "Hey if I have to take three courses I might as well continue on with my Masters." Hubby is talking about starting his Ed Specialist in Leadership/Admin. It is the never ending story. Unfortunately, I will need to take a couple of ed courses in a little while to keep my certification current - which leads to the "Hey if I have to take two I might as well...." Oh my.

I've been thinking about doing that. I'm concerned I won't be able to get into a master's program for music, though. You have to audition for most, including the composition degree I was interested in.
