Tom

Does "the Longest Yard" (of course the original) count?

Bill

Sure. But you realize it has Burt Reynolds in it, right?

Adam

Since I already included "The First Olympics" on a different list, I won't list it again. But I do agree that it's one of the best.
1) The Program
2) Michael Jordan's Playground
3) Hoosiers
4) Varsity Blues
5) Diggstown

deborah

1) The Cutting Edge
2) Bring It On
3) A League of Their Own

I'd list a few more, but I can't think of any other sports movies I've seen all the way through.

Ken

1) Hoosiers
2) The Replacements
3) Miracle (Hockey Olympics)
4) Rudy
5) The Mighty Ducks (come on, it's got kids, hockey, and Emilio Estevez)

george

Remember the Titans
The Natural
Major League or Bull Durham (maybe they tie)
Rudy
Replacements

What about Field of Dreams? hmmm
The Lou Gerhig (sp?) Story
Does Abbott and Costello doing "Who's on First" count?

ken

Major League is a good one. I forgot about that one.

Jennie

Major League
Mighty Ducks
Chariots of Fire - does that count?
The Program
Hoosiers

For the record, I avoid sports movies like the plague!

Bill

Chariots of Fire definitely counts.

It's funny because I like sports movies even though I don't like watching sports for the most part. I think it's all that unscripted action! ;-)

deborah

Add the Mighty Ducks to mine!

Tom

What, Burt Reynolds doesn't stack up to Charlie Sheen or Emilio Estavez?!?

George

Does the original version of "The Longest Yard" count as a "sports movie"? It should right? That was a good one.

What about "Rollerball". (you all may be too young to remember that one.)

Rob

1. For the Love of the Game
2. Chariots of Fire
3. Field of Dreams
4. Remember the Titans
5. The Natural/Hoosiers (I am a Hoosier after all)

Honorable mentions: A League of their Own-"There's no crying in baseball!
Miracle, and Major League

Just Me

What happened to "winning one for the Gipper?' The Knute Rockne Story

Does "Jerry Maguire" count? - Cube Gooding had me at "Show me the money!"

Other than those two, I loved
Hoosiers and
Remember the Titans

Tom

I agree with "Rollerball". That movie rocks!
