A non-profit organization that works to distribute backyard- and community-grown produce to low income individuals and families free of charge in San Fransisco.
I love this. Especially great in California, the homeless capital of the US.
Many times, food pantries, missions etc. (for very practical reasons) get the types of food that will survive a nuclear invasion. They'll keep but are not necessarily healthy.
Just, so ya know...I'm not knocking other organizations. I just am particularly pleased with this idea.
Makes me miss gardening.
